Job description:

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs that drive precision machining operations. Your expertise will directly contribute to producing high-quality components efficiently and accurately, supporting our commitment to excellence in manufacturing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge software in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as Mastercam or CATIA.
  • Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, ensuring all parts are machined to exact specifications using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including programming adjustments to optimize machining processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Select appropriate tooling and fixtures based on project requirements, ensuring proper tool wear management and tool life optimization.
  • Conduct precision measurements using tools like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions against specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing geometric data, schematics, and schematics; adjust programs accordingly to maintain quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design engineers using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD to review designs and ensure manufacturability.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and inspection reports for quality control purposes.

Experience

  • Proven experience in CNC programming for both milling machines and lathes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA or equivalent for designing parts and generating machine code.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings with an emphasis on GD&T standards.
  • Mechanical knowledge of tooling selection, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and precision measurement instruments like bore gauges and micrometers.
  • Experience working with lean manufacturing practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ability to interpret geometric data and schematics accurately while applying math skills for precise machining calculations.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems related to CNC machinery is a plus but not mandatory. Join us if you’re passionate about precision engineering and eager to contribute your expertise in a collaborative environment that values innovation!
