Secondary / Grinding Machine Operator

Location: Massillon, OH
Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift Availability

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Starting Pay: $14.00 per hour
Shift Differential: Additional $0.55 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Position Summary

Mecca Talent is seeking dependable Secondary/Grinding Machine Operators to join a growing manufacturing team in Massillon, Ohio. In this role, you will operate a variety of secondary processing equipment, perform basic quality inspections, and ensure finished parts meet production standards.

This position is ideal for individuals with previous manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Essential ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation

  • Safely operate secondary processing and grinding equipment.
  • Load and unload parts weighing between 0.5 and 9.8 pounds.
  • Verify machine safety before beginning production.
  • Review setup instructions and quality checkpoints prior to operation.
  • Push parts through machines according to established production procedures.
  • Deburr finished parts and remove any excess material or imperfections.
  • Inspect parts using basic gauges and visual inspection methods to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Package completed parts into boxes and stack on pallets for material handling.

Quality Control

  • Perform routine visual inspections throughout production.
  • Use simple measuring gauges to verify part compliance.
  • Report quality concerns or machine issues to supervision.

Housekeeping & Safety

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Clean oil, chips, and debris from machines throughout the shift.
  • Wipe down equipment daily.
  • Sweep and properly dispose of metal shavings and scrap material.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Safety-focused work ethic.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift parts weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, and carry materials throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
